sewage could be the ‘new gold’ (a new low for ‘to wit’)

if dr janice gray, a lecturer from the university of new south wales, is worth half her salt, we may not only face increasing international competition for water but also a national corporate battle for our own excrement.

with water scarcity a hot issue in australia in australia at the moment, australian companies have been battling over the rights to sewage networks, particularly in sydney and the hunter valley region.

dr gray predicts that if such wrangling continues, australians might begin to become more possessive of their ordure.  i don’t know about you but i shan’t be stockpiling any pots of poo in my backyard.
