second polar bear killed

icelandic police have shot a second polar bear in as many weeks after it was sighted on the island, hundreds of kilometres from its species’ natural habitat in greenland.

police have this time attempted to justify the shooting, stating that the bear charged a group of reporters. one wonders why were the reporters close enough to be charged in the first place.

while the slaughter of an endangered species is troubling enough, even more worrying is the rapid increase in global warming the bears odd movements suggest.  read more here
